Craft It Forward

I've mentioned before that I participated in Craft it Forward 2011 on Facebook.  I really enjoyed making specific things for people and sharing little gifts with them for no reason.  Last weekend I was thrilled to receive another gift!
It was a super cute crocheted toque with a detachable flower in my favorite color - green!  I can't believe I'm about to say this, but I'm looking forward to the frosty weather so I can put it to use!  :)

Pay it Forward Giveaway

In the New Year I participated in a Craft it Forward event on Facebook.  I had so much fun with it!  I was able to make some crafts for some special ladies, and it turn got a few things myself!  I was excited to see this post on Fiber of All Sorts because it meant I got to do it all over again!

Here are the rules:

1.  I will make something for the first 3 people that comment on this post.  QUICK! Comment now and read the rest of the rules later!  Just kidding... you might want to see what you're getting yourself into before you commit.  Also, if you do comment, make sure that your email is attached to your account, or include it in your comment.  I need to have some way of getting a hold of your to get your address!

2.  I will have a full 365 days to make and send your item.  Maybe when you least expect it and have forgotten about this, it will show up in the mail.

3.  Once you comment here, you must post about your Pay It Forward on your blog to keep the fun going with the Pay It Forward badge.  You then will have the joy and fun of making something for the first 3 people that comment on your post!

Also, feel free to join the Flickr group to see what else is being sent!

Cactus Fun

The other day I stumbled upon an interesting crochet pattern that I fell in love with right away!  The pattern can be found here.  Sometimes I get bored of crocheting flat squares, so working on these cacti was a real treat.  The pattern comes with instructions for 8 cacti and 2 different pots.  I am looking forward to experimenting more with different colors and cactus combinations!  Here's the first pot I have made:

Teal Ripple Afghan

A few weeks ago I finished an afghan I've been working on since the beginning of September.  This one was nice and quick, and the bulky yarn made it nice and cozy.  This color is my absolute favorite right now, and I am a little sad to have to give it up!  But it's going to a good home as a wedding gift, so that makes it a little easier to say good bye...

Scared of Crows?

I finished another project!

This one I ordered from the Mary Maxim catalog a few weeks ago and was thrilled when it finally arrived in the mail!  It was a fairly easy project, just time consuming and detailed.  Here are some pictures:
